Another busy period since the last posting. Here are the highlights: · Interview on Radio Pulpit on Friday 1st October with Greta Darth at 7.35am · Made contact with the SANBS and hope that I will meet with them in October to brief their staff about Blood for the World.Org organisation, agree to have our posters put up at their clinics and discuss how we can work together. · Have sent emails introducing Blood for the World.Org to a number of Radio Stations and Christian Organisations, locally and around the world. Awaiting response from some and not expecting a response from others. · Updates to the website: · Can now record postal and home addresses, office and home numbers, fax and mobile numbers · Sorted out the TAB problem—now when you TAB it should move to the next field and not some random field as before · Added some photos · Added some Posters pages where you can preview the proposed marketing campaigns that we plan to run. · Added a Downloads page where you can download some Blood for the World.Org material, print it out and put it up at home or the office or at church · Added some Products which we may make available to our Membership so that you can proudly display your affiliation with Blood for the World.Org. · Updated the Related Links page with more links · Added a Statistics Page which still requires some refinement but which provide a guide for you as to how we are faring with Membership, Donations, Pledges, etc. · Have added the website to a couple of search engines · Have added links to the website through various Christian and other web forums.
Sunday 12th September 2004 Well, what an exciting week it has been in the life of the website of Blood for the World.Org. We went from zero to about 200kms per hour by the feel of it. We must apologise to all those who visited us during the difficult periods of things not working quite as expected. · We tried the form-to-email functionality for the feedback form and then learnt very quickly how to make it work. · We were emboldened and produced more forms, which again did not work when version 2 of the site was launched. We will admit to moments of panic, but thanks to support at Hetzner and prayer and the light finally coming on, we got that right. · We introduced visitor counters which still require some definite tuning to perfect the use of them · Tried to correct as much wrong with all the ‘nigly’ stuff - still do not know how to reorder fields on the form so that when you tab you move to the next form and do not disappear to somewhere completely different. Any advice would be greatly accepted. Website Improvement Plans for the future: · Allow for recording of postal and physical addresses, office phone, home phone, fax number and mobile numbers. · Allow for a change of details form · Allow you to select more items from lists · Improve the whole form capturing and detail retrieving process. · Automate the generation of Membership Numbers · Add photos and more graphics · Reduce the footprint of our logo New Areas · Allow you to preview our campaign and marketing materials for your comments |
