How about today? There may be certain restrictions such as age (you must be over 16 years of age in South Africa), malaria area restrictions, other health restrictions that you need to consider first. If you are unsure, please contact your nearest blood bank (in South Africa SANBS), see Related Links and discuss your concerns with them. |
|
The Registration Form page is up and running, so please register when you want to. New donors may want to register once they have made their first donation but really it is up to you. Do whatever feels comfortable. |

In a number of ways: a. You can sign up and commit yourself to providing the Gift of Life right now and encourage others by your example. b. You can become a contact person for your church, office, school, society or community and assist us to display our promotional material and challenge your fellow congregants, colleagues, students, teachers or members to sign up and commit themselves to the program. c. You can spread the word and our website to as many people as possible. Tell your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours and then suggest that you all go together to donate blood. d. If you have a website up and running, please provide a link to this one www.bloodfortheworld.org and encourage people to visit it. e. If you have any brilliant suggestions for us or feel that you can assist us in any way that is not mentioned here, please either go to the Feedback page or send an email to info@bloodfortheworld.org f. Any non-profit organisation depends on funding to keep it alive and to enable it to perform the work it sets out to do. Therefore, if you feel that you are able to, any monetary gift will be most welcome. Please visit the Pledge Form page and register your pledge there. g. We need to keep costs down and maybe you could advise us of any special deals that could be made available to us as a non-profit organisation. This could include software licensing, printing and stationery, clothing items, promotional items, promotional material, and many more that you could possibly think of. Hopefully, we have provided you with some ideas to assist you. |

Congratulations on taking such a courageous step, you have already made a difference in someone's life. Please do not worry about your Blood Donor Number this time. When you get your reminder notice the blood donor number should be there along with your blood type. Please enter them the next time you complete a Donation Update Form. |

God sent Jesus down to earth to die so that all our sins be forgiven. He died for all of us. South Africa does not have the monopoly on this. As the name implies, it is Global organisation, so please register with us and make sure that you provide your country relevant information so that we can contact you. |
|
Please use any one of the methods available on the Contact Us page to contact us with your details. We will respond accordingly. |

This is a very important question and needs to be answered in a number of parts for a complete answer. a. Any non-profit organisation depends on funding to keep it alive and to enable it to perform the work it sets out to do. Therefore, if people feel that they are able to, any monetary gift will be most welcome. People may visit the Pledge Form page and register their pledge there. b. Until we have a bank account registered in the name of Blood for the World.Org, we do not want any Blood for the World.Org funds to become mixed up with any private monies. c. Once a pledge has been registered we will then personally contact the person and confirm the details. A mechanism can then be agreed as to how the monies will be deposited into our bank account. d. We are very aware that working with the public's money carries a huge responsibility and that is why we are in the process of registering a Section 21 Non Profit Organisation as per South African Companies Act (61 of 1973), registering with the Department of Social Development as an NPO and will register with the South African Revenue Service as a Public Benefit Organisation. All of these registrations authorise us to perform our objectives whilst at the same time placing a certain burden of responsibility upon the Directors to manage the Organisation and the funds generated responsibly. |

We hope that their friends, fellow colleagues, students or community members who do have such access would be willing to assist them and record their details. If not, they are most welcome to post their details through to: Blood for the World.Org 16 Glamorgan Road Parkwood 2193 Johannesburg South Africa And we will record the details for them. |

14. I live outside of South Africa. Does this apply to me? What should I do? |
|
Absolutely, as long as we receive the funding to perform the translations. We would really be blessed if someone would volunteer to perform a translation into their own language as a gift to us. Could that person be you? Please Contact Us and volunteer if you could. |

15. English is not my home language, will you cater for other languages in the future? |

In South Africa in order to register a company as a not for profit company, one has to register it as a Section 21 Company as per the Companies Act (61 of 1973). As part of the registration process a number of 'members' must complete a form agreeing to become one of the organisation's officers. They must also develop and agree to a Memorandum and Articles of Association which lay out some of the rules by which the organisation will be governed. These also define how the Board of Directors will be elected, their responsibilities and duties and their terms in office. Members in this sense is quite different to our Membership who register and commit themselves to regular blood donations. |

We should receive a notification from the web mail service that your email was undeliverable for whatever reason and we will then attempt to use another means of communication to contact you to confirm your email address. |

Christ died for everyone, not only for us Christians. Also, there are no religious boundaries when it comes to blood. One does not get A Pos (Christian) or A Pos (Non-Christian) blood, one just gets A Pos blood which can save an A Pos person whether they are Christian or not. We are very much a Christian based Organisation but that does not preclude non-Christians from registering to donate blood together with us. One would have to enquire whether they would want to be associated with a Christian based organisation or whether they would prefer just to register solely with the blood bank. Let them choose and if they do choose Blood for the World.Org, then we should all welcome them in and show the Lord's love to them. |

Your question is best answered in a number of parts: a. Yes, we will as soon as we learn how to and as soon as the response warrants it. When we first registered the website, we took one of the smallest website packages offered by our web hosting partner for a number of reasons including cost, inexperience with website design and uncertainty as to whether the initiative would fly. b. If you do have any experience in website design that you would be able to assist us with, please do not hesitate to contact us. Of particular use, would be ready configured code for some of the forms, such as list boxes with country names, telephone codes and anything else which you may feel useful having experienced our site. Currently we are using Microsoft Publisher for the website design. c. It appears that the site will require an upgrade to a website package that provides more sophistication than allowed for at present and we will shortly approach our website hosting partner to discuss how we do so. |

16. The website is still a little awkward, will you be making any improvements soon? |

Please use one of the methods available in the Contact Us page to submit your question to us. We will respond as soon as we are able to. Also, remember that there is no such thing as a 'stupid question', so please do not feel intimidated in any way. |
